Public Health Emergency Declared by UN!
Within two years of COVID 19 Pandemic that paused the whole world, the UN issued another public health emergency. This time it’s Monkey Pox. Last case of Monkey pox was registered way back in the 1970s. However, in 2022 there are more than 16,000 active cases worldwide.
If we talk about Monkey pox, then Monkey pox is a rare disease caused by infection with the monkey pox virus. Monkey pox virus is a part of the same family of viruses just like the variola virus, the virus is responsible for causing smallpox. The symptoms of Monkey pox are similar to smallpox symptoms but milder, and monkey pox is rarely fatal. However, Monkey pox is not directly related to chickenpox.
This virus spreads via physical contact. The symptoms of monkey pox can be rashes, pimples like blisters on the body, Exhaustion, Chills, Fever, Headache, Muscle pain, and Swollen Lymph nodes.
Doctors and other health professionals have said that a person suffering from Monkey Pox can recover within 3–4 weeks. However, the authorities still search for more and more data to check if the virus has evolved or mutated.
As responsible citizens, we can adopt a few dos to avoid the spreading this disease.
1. Use masks and Sanitizers whenever we visit crowded place especially in markets/ supermarkets.
2. Washing hands regularly.
3. Avoiding physical contact with any person showing signs and #symptoms of this disease.
4. Eating healthy food boosts our immunity.
5. Using Examination or Surgical Gloves if we visit any supermarket or market.
Doctors and Scientists are already working on medicines as well as existing vaccines reactions on the virus that might help in the treatment of the patient and may also help in preventing this disease.
