Safety IV Cannula

Most of the nurses even today have some or the other difficulties during the entire process, missing the veins and drawing blood from it. One of the nurses in England came forward and shared her personal experience and this is what she said, I was new to my job and I really had a huge difficulty in just finding a vein and drawing blood from it, and start the process and if I find a vein I immediately missed it. This led to a huge frustration in me and I thought that will never be able to figure out things again. I even landed up making assumptions that I belong to be among those nurses who are not talented at starting this process and drawing blood from it.

Unfortunately I gave up to this process in the first year, and asked a experienced nurse to come forward and help me. This was a big mistake and I should not have given up so easily. Looking back at my experience when it comes to the veins, almost all the nurses have to learn to acquire this skill. And after a year of not trying it, I forced myself to learn it and came out with success. Through this blog today I will be sharing you some of the reasons, as to why people miss the veins while drawing blood and how you can increase the success rate. Let’s have a look at them below.

1. Don’t know how you can use the IV supplies: This is one of the major reasons why most of us get frustrated. There are 4–5 different items that you need before you begin with the entire process, and if you don’t know how they work then you are definitely going to miss a vein. You will here have to know how to apply tourniquet correctly, and how to insert the Safety IV Cannula needle, and the last but not the least how to flush it with saline.

2. You have picked up a too small vein: Try to pick up veins that are large enough to see, because if you pick up a small vein then it will immediately collapse on you when you try to have the needle placed inside it.

3. You did not prepare the vein properly: As a nurse it is important that you properly look out for veins, stabilising them before you insert the needle. It is really hard to hit on the vein that may roll upon and is flat. And Incase your vein is at a risk of rolling, then you will have to stabilize it above insertion site before going and sticking to the patient.

4. Don’t know when to actually look out for veins: There are some of the places where you can look out for veins, when it comes to the human arm and has in the same place.

5. The vein is blown or rolled: You have to know when is the best time to use an tourniquet, and when it is not the right time to use. If the patient present two with superficial and visible veins without any tourniquet, then you don’t have to actually use it. This is because you have an extra pressure being placed on the vein, and you will actually blow it when the needle is stuck to it.

6. Having no confidence: Starting the entire process of IV Cannula and drawing blood is 10 percent and 90 percent mental. You have to make sure that you gain some confidence at least before you begin with the entire process.

7. Use heat: Before you begin with the entire process, do make sure that you warm the arms of the person so that you can clearly see the veins.

8. Pump the fists: If you are about to begin with the entire process, then always make sure that you ask your patient to pump the fists. This can cause the veins to engorged and be become more visible..

To conclude

Always make sure that you stabilise the vein before you begin with the entire process. Learn your equipment’s and understand what exactly is happening with it. Practice and give time to your self and see how you gain success. Lars Medicare Biggest Safety IV Cannula Exporter.
